Snack Policy

Christ the King Preschool has the snack policy that every child will bring their own snack to school. The children will not be allowed to share their snacks. Many children have allergies to certain foods, food colorings, additives, etc. Safety is our number one concern. We also talk about nutrition and expect that the snack your child brings will be nutritious. Candy is not an allowable snack and gum chewing is not allowed any time at school.

Here are a few suggestions for snack time.

  • carrots and celery sticks
  • trail mix
  • fruit
  • cheerios
  • pretzels
  • goldfish
  • cheese
  • popcorn
  • graham crackers
  • granola bars
  • pudding, yogurt or Jell-O cups (we have a refrigerator to store these items until snack time).

We are always amazed at the creativity of our preschoolers and their parents for snack time. Please send your child’s snack in a bag with his/her NAME PRINTED ON THE OUTSIDE. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING A WATER BOTTLE DAILY WITH NAME ON OUTSIDE.

If you wish to celebrate your child’s birthday (or half/birthday) at school, treats such as cookies, rice krispie treats, cupcakes, etc., are welcome. Since many children prefer to eat the snack they brought to school, and because of allergies, we send the birthday treats home at the end of the day. Therefore, please PACK THE BIRTHDAY TREATS SEPARATELY IN BAGGIES TO TAKE HOME.

Please let us know if your child has any food allergies that we should be aware of. This information is very important for us when we cook and eat our own snack.

Thank you for your cooperation!
