Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil; For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, the Giver and Perfecter of our faith, we thank and praise You for continuing among us at Christ the King in the preaching of Your Gospel and the teaching of Your Word for our instruction and edification. Send Your blessing upon Your Word, which is spoken to us by Your Holy Spirit, increase our saving knowledge of You, so that day by day we and our children might be strengthened in divine truth and remain steadfast in Your grace. Give us strength to fight the good fight and by faith to overcome all the temptations of Satan, the flesh and the world so that we might finally receive the salvation of our souls; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever. Amen.

August 2023 Chronicles
I pray you are enjoying these incredible days of summer. What a tremendous summer the Lord has given us here in Michigan! He has mercifully spared us from many of the natural disasters that are taking place in other parts of our country and world. I hope you have prayed for others in their need and given God thanks for the blessings we have all enjoyed. It has been a long, long time since we have experienced a summer that has remained green through the entire span of June, July, and August! It has made for a beautiful season, and I hope that you and your family have truly seized the day and have remembered to thank the One Who has given us these blessings! We’d have to be selfish and unthinking to miss what is before our very eyes or fail to be grateful to Jesus for them.

Dear Lord Jesus, Who looked with joy on the beauties of the field, and took Your disciples away to quiet places for rest and refreshment: we thank You for the times of rest and recreation which come amid the toils and cares of our daily life and employment. We pray You, that we may so appreciate both our time of rest and our vocations, and the value each brings to our body and soul, that we may use them to our profit and to the renewal of our strength and our will for doing our appointed tasks faithfully and in ways that please You; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
