Youth Thanksgiving Service Project

The Inner City Youth Group headed by Kinda Makini reached out to us once again asking if we might be able to help them this Thanksgiving.  Would we, at Christ the King, like to help some of our Detroit neighbor’s by providing 10 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need? I said, “Of course we would!”. We have five able-bodied confirmation students – and perhaps one or two high school students – who will be more than willing to do the shopping at Kroger, assemble the baskets and perhaps help me deliver them but we could use a little financial assistance. Even with the cost of groceries these days, I’m going to guess we can keep each basket to around $50 (we include one $25 gift card to Kroger to cover the cost of a turkey or ham). If anyone would like to make a donation to help with the cost of the items to fill these baskets please contact Nancy Josefiak or leave a donation in our church office. Thank you so very much!
